Happy Holidays Y'all!

Wishing everyone a wonderful round of Christmas cheer and a smooth slide into 2008. Not sure what we will be doing for New Years eve just yet. Might be in Sac, might be in Reno...depends on what kind of plans we run into. If anyone knows of anything fun happening - let us know!

Couldn't wait to post these!

I realize it's unusual for me to do two posts in one day but these had me laughing outloud. This is Scott "Crack Me Up" Klacking as Robin. I love it! Thank you so much for sending...

Here it is...

The infamous Halloween picture I was talking about before! Here is Dave Roth (as himself) with Alien Amy Lux, Tab the Streaker and Jen Harold as a French Maid. I figured with this blog and other stuff it was about time I got a scanner - and so I scanned my heart out this weekend and I'm prepared for many fun blogs to come. Have a fantastic Halloween everyone! Please don't forget to email me pictures afterwards of you or your kids or both in costume. Can't wait!
Happy hauntings,
Temple

October...Halloween is coming!

Many of you know that I LOVE Halloween. It's definitely my favorite holiday. I have some great memories of Halloweens from back in the day. I remember being at Montview Park and Tab was dressed as a flasher in a trench coat with a ginormous nylon penis underneath that her Mom had made (that sounds so innappropriate right now...but at the time didn't phase me). I have a great picture of that night with Tab, Jen Harold (dressed as a french maid) and Amy Lux (dressed as an alien) and Amy's long silver alien fingers are fondling Tab's you know what. Halloween was a big deal in Chico too and I have endless memories from there as well. One year Sue & I dressed as Sylvester & Tweety and we looked rediculous as you can see! I don't know that I have ever laughed as hard as I did that night. What about you? What are some of your greatest Halloween memories (costumes, parties, etc)? I know some great Halloween pictures might be on tap for this year...in addition to our mass collection of cute kids in their get ups, we might have Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth if the Moehlman's pull it off (referring to Amy Bywater who might be Beth). I laugh just imagining that one!

Oh - and a quick birthday shout out to Scott Klacking who has a birthday on 10/7 I believe.
Boo!

Congratulations to Kelly & her family - they welcomed baby McKenna earlier this week. McKenna was 6 weeks early and weighed around 4 lbs. Mom & baby are recovering in the hospital and doing well from what I hear. When I get the full scoop and a picture I can update this post.
Stay tuned,

Good times!

So here is a blast from the past picture from Shasta when we went with Shawn & Matt to celebrate their upcoming numptuals. Thanks Sue for the pic! While this past week another fun time was had - it was a whole different ballgame chasing toddlers around and having constant mini-heart attacks when they even came close to the edge of the boat. Shawn & Matt had a wild hair and spontaneoulsy joined us for a few days which was great! We originally had a group of about 14 slated for this trip. A bunch of random circumstances changed everything and when we arrived last Saturday we were down to 4 people (and that included my 3 year old son Wyatt). So, my husband, my oldest kid and our friend John set out and within 2 hours the hospital called John's cell - his wife was going into labor at 6 months pregnant! So we had to turn around and take John back so he could drive all the way back to Reno. About half way back to the marina we came upon a ski boat that was on fire and apparently John's adrenaline had kicked in because before we knew it he had jumped ont a jet ski and went over with a fire extinguisher leapt onto the boat (everyone else had jumped off into the water) and helped put out the fire. Pretty crazy! So once we got John situated so he could get back to his wife, Jeff & Wyatt & I set out and spent a few long and lazy days floating around Shasta and enjoying a 14 person houseboat all to ourselves. While we had a great time - both of us were relieved to meet up with the Harlan's on Tuesday...it was nice to have some new people to talk to and some extra hands to "man the ship". It's hard to dock a boat and make sure the jet skis tied off in the back don't get thrashed when you are a crew of two - but we did it! So they hopped on board and Shawn whipped up a batch of her famous bloody mary's and we were off for a few more days of sunshine filled days and bazillion star nights.
Shawn & I talked about doing another girls houseboating trip - no kids - no mini-heart attacks. But Amy - you mentioned a cruise and I would be game for that sometime too. What about a 20 year reunion cruise?!?! That's something to think about. I hope all of your adventures the past two weekends were good ones...
Oops - almost forgot - our friend John is now a proud Daddy. Baby Jack Sullivan O'Day was welcomed on Wednesday at a tiny 2 lbs 14 ounces. He is breathing on his own which is incredible! He is thriving and while his parents have to commute back and forth to the hospital in Reno (the O'Days live in Gardnerville, 35+ miles south of Reno) for the next 70 days they will be camping out here some of the time. Now that had to have been an adventure...
Cheers,
Temple

More for the Hall of Fame!

Turns out some of our youngins are experiencing some "fame" as well. Here is Shawn's son Kian in the picture that will be part of a calendar for adopted animals. Cute!

So in a few hours I'm off to Shasta to float for a week. Got a few jet skis, a cooler full of Fat Tire, lots of groceries and I'm so ready for some good times and R&R. I haven't done the houseboat thing since Shawn & Matt's Bachelor/Bachelorette extravaganza years ago...now those are some pictures!
Keep blogging while I'm away - I'll catch you on the other side.

TGIF!

Got Flavor?

I knew it would only be a matter of time before the famous would want to start showing off pictures. Thanks Dave for sending this classic picture of Pat Nooren with Flavor Flav - sweet! Anyone else have anything that can top this?! Bring it!

Update - Tanya McDaniel hooked me up with some more flavor of the NFL variety. Here is Kathleen with LaDanian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers running back. Maybe it's just me but it looks like she wants to take a bite out of him.
Keep 'em coming people!

5 Famous/5 Lost

When I graduated from high school, my older brother (DC Class of '80) said that within 10 years, 5 people I knew from high school would be famous, and 5 would be dead. That always haunted me. So when 10 years had passed and '99 rolled around I was relieved that what he had experienced had not been the case for our class...at least not to my knowledge. Hearing of Ron Coffelt's recent passing and also thinking about losing Darryl Nelson earlier this year reminded me of my brother's 5 Famous/5 Lost theory. I'm sad about both tragic stories for these way-too-young-to-go men and the loved ones they have left behind. May their passing remind all of us to celebrate every day and embrace all we are blessed with.

For those of you who haven't seen Ron Coffelt's story in the paper, go to:
http://www.sacbee.com/101/story/284293.html
(Thanks Dave for the link...)

As far as the 5 Famous/5 Lost theory - what counts as famous? I heard that Kelly Auernig was once spotted in the audience of Jerry Springer - does that count? Come to think of it I think I heard Susan Fleming was on Jerry Springer. I think Tricia Olsem was once on a dating gameshow (forget which one) - does that count? Sue was in a Hard Rock Cafe Maui commercial - that's gotta count, right? They filmed Extreme Home Makeover in Petaluma and I think Jen Ham was in the crowd - does that count? I realize a lot of this is based on rumor so feel free to set me straight.

Take care y'all...

Los Tres Hombres...

Here are a few shots of the Smith Boys (Connor - Eric's son with Carson & Colby - Tab & Paul's kids) in Cabo last week. Looks like good times! Thanks Tab for the pics - even though the return trip home sounded like a nightmare - I hope the rest of the trip was great! Adios, Temple

Some of the '88 Cougar Kids - cuties!

Thanks Kathleen (Dougherty) Overby for sending this pic. This is at Yosemite over Father's Day weekend. I recognize her kids - Zach is the boy in the front middle and Abby is the girl in the middle back row. I know the rest of the kids belong to Erin (Goheen) Auernig and Liz (Novak) Kleczek and I'm pretty sure the blondies belong to Erin and the brunettes to Liz. Dang - this makes me realize I don't see you guys nearly as often as I would like. I can't believe how old these kids are! How did that happen?! ~Temple

Mike Gardner Stoned...

Woops! I mean here is Mike Gardner and his boys - John & William - at Stonehenge. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm jealous - looks like a cool place. By the way - I thought at first they were talking on cell phones but I think those are the little recorder things that tell about the place. Thanks for the pics Mike - tell us about your trip! ~T

Cool! Thanks for stopping by!

So some new bloggers are amongst us - thanks to Scott Klacking for spreading the word. Did you guys know that Scott does some cool undercover work via Myspace? Veddy veddy eeenteresting stuff. I hope I didn't just out you but then I figure your perps aren't lurking around here. Thanks to Dave Roth for being persistent and figuring it out (wink). Thanks to Heatherlee for the posts...welcome! Thanks to my ya-ya posse for sticking around. I hope that more people continue to stop by. I've noticed that Stillwell has yet to visit (or at least speak up) on this blog and Laura's blog. So this is my official challenge to him to surface. T McD & Kafreen - counting on you to round up the rest of the getalongs. There are a few Spartans (friends from San Juan High) I hope will show up soon. And to Joe(y) - where did you go?! The rest of y'all - don't be shy. For the record - I'm no blog hog - I said it before & I'll say it again - this is intended to be OUR blog - our little slice of cyberspace if you will. So if there is a post you want to start or pictures you want me to share then email your wishes to me at temples@unr.edu. I have tried to figure out how to share "postability" for some of you to start new posts but so far it doesn't seem to be working. I'll keeping trying. In the meantime - let me know what's on tap and I'm happy to post away! Cheers! ~Temple

So...what's up DC Alums?

So I have been completely inspired by Laura's blog - and I thought in addition to using classmates, reunion.com and the DCHS Alumni site to kind of check people out and see what's up with our old high school peeps, maybe it would come in handy to have a place where we can chat. I should confess right now that I am a complete rookie in the world of blogging so I will do my best to make this thing work - at least I will give it a whirl. As our inevitable 20th reunion continues to creep up I figure I can't be the only one who is starting to wonder about old friends. So round 'em up kiddos - and feel free to share what's on your mind, how you intend to make a difference in the world, what planet you live on - and whatever else you might thinketh...
Cheers! {clink-clink}
